  • Educational activity on children’s rights

    On 3 May 2018, the EU Corner in the Municipality of Patos, in cooperation with the Social Service Sector of this municipality, organized an informative activity on children's rights. During this thematic meeting, the debate underlined the fact that in addition to their rights children should also know about their responsibilities. Different speakers during the meeting focused moreon the comparison between the level of respect of children's rights in Albania and in European countries.

  • Discussion forum with citizens during the Europe Week

    On May 8th, within the Europe Week and just one day before Europe Day May 9th, the EU Corner in the Municipality of Patos was visited by the representatives of the European Delegation Mrs. Monika Bylaite, Deputy Ambassador of Romania Ms. Cristina Norcisa Halacu Nicon, and Mr. Elvis Toçi, Honorary Consul of Romania.
    The delegation visited the EU corner and met with the Mayor, Mrs. Rajmonda Balilaj. During the meeting they discussed about the challenges of the integration process at the local level.

  • Representatives of the EU Delegation to Albania visit the enterprise in the city of Patos

    On May 8, 2018, in the framework of the European Week, at the end of the forum “Talking about European Union”, the next stop of the representatives of the EU Delegation in Patos was to visit several city undertakings.
    Two large fason production companies operate in the city of Patos:“Picari” which manufactures and exports to the European footwear market and “Tur Textile” which manufactures and exports apparel.

  • Olympic Games in Patos - The EU Corner becomes an active part of them

    On May 14, 2018, in the premises of the “Alush Noga” stadium, the EU Corner in Patos in cooperation with the Department of Education and Culture of the municipality as well as the city schools organized the Olympic flame burning.
    The EU Corner participation in this activity is a sign of intertwining of local activities to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
    During the activity, massive involvement of young people was highlighted as local government approach and youth strategy at the central and local level encourage sports activities and youth integration.

  • Youth and European Integration

    On May 16, 2018, the EU Corner in Patos Municipality visited the newly EU mini-corner opened in “Zhani Ciko” Secondary School of the city.
    The EU Corner Coordinators have taken care that this space that tells about the EU in the premises of this school finds the full engagement of the students so that they develop this corner with more informative materials and can develop different activities, such as the one organized during this visit: Olympic Rings - an activity that develops children's fantasy based on various symbols of European cultural heritage.
