  • Three new projects of the European Union, in support of the Albanian municipalities

    An extended meeting was held in Gjirokastra with the presence of the EU Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Luigi Soreca, Albanian mayors, civil society and media, presenting and marking the official start of three projects: "Municipalities for Europe 2.0", "EU for Municipalities" and "STAR III".  
    Present in this activity were also the Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Andi Mahile and the Chief Negotiator of Albania, Mr. Zef Mazi.
    All three of these projects, funded by the European Union, support Albanian municipalities in its EU accession process.

  • Capacity Building, ASPA and MfE present the needs assessment report

    The Albanian School of Public Administration (ASPA), the main partner of the Municipalities for Europe Project, during an online meeting with all the heads of European Integration Units in the municipalities of Albania, presented the Draft Report on the Training Needs for the Local Government.

    The findings of this report will also form the basis of the training curriculum throughout the implementation of the project "Municipalities for Europe", with regards to the European integration processes.

  • “Municipalities for Europe” and ASPA present the findings of the training needs assessment

    The Albanian School of Public Administration (ASPA), the main partner of the Municipalities for Europe Project, has recently conducted a Needs Assessment for Local Government Training in all 61 municipalities of Albania, among others.

    The findings of the Report were presented at an event organized by MfE and ASPA in the form of a Focus Group, with the staff of the European Integration Units from 11 municipalities. 

    ASPA Representative, Mrs. Adela Kula and the project team of Municipalities for Europe, have discussed about the conclusions and validation of this Assessment.

  • The MfE team holds intensive meetings in Gjirokastra with representatives of local government and civil society

    The MfE team held two days of intensive meetings in the Municipality of Gjirokastra, with the mayors of the municipalities that are part of the district, members of the City Council, civil society organizations, as well as European Integration Units staff.

    Mr. Orlando Fusco, Programme Manager for Good Governance in the EUD Office in Tirana, attended the meetings and events, that were hosted by the Mayor of Gjirokastra, Mr. Flamur Golemi.
