On 17th and 18th of November, in the city of Berat, a 2-day TAIEX Workshop was held on "Supporting Local Government to prepare and mitigate multiple risks".
Part of the meeting were representatives of the Civil Defense sectors and directorates of the municipalities of southern Albania.
The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Albania and the Agency for the Support of Local Self-Government and was supported by "Municipalities for Europe", a project financed by the European Union and ASPA.
TAIEX experts from Italy, Mr. Agostino Goretti, DRM Seismic Expert, Italian Civil Defense, Mr. Marco Massabò, DRM Flood Expert, Cima Foundation (Italy) and Ms. Marina Trentin, Recovery and Adaptation experts shared their knowledge on preparing for and mitigating natural disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, droughts and heat waves.
Participant in the event was Mrs. Adisa Bala, from the National Agency of Civil Protection, as co-leader of the Workshop.
The activity included the exchange of experiences with representatives of sectors and directorates that cover civil emergencies in local government bodies.
The first workshop session was held in Shkodër, with the municipalities of northern Albania, on November 14-15, 2022.
