The "Municipalities for Europe" project, continued training officials and specialists of the European Integration Units in all municipalities of Albania, even during times of restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, by adapting the training sessions with online technology.

From 8 to 11 June 2020, "MfE" continued the training on "Coordinating Foreign Assistance", in partnership with the Albanian School of Public Administration. These trainings are part of the curriculum for European integration at the local level.

The trainings, which were conducted online through the ASPA webinar system, focused on topics such as the integrated planning system and its basic principles; strategic development framework and interlinking funding priorities with programs; as well as inter-institutional structures and coordination in terms of foreign funding. Expert Valbona Kuko offered her experience during both days of the training sessions, while the MfE expert, Alda Dekovi coordinated the whole process, just like in every other other training conducted during the last two months.

New executives and specialists of the Integration Units have been trained in sector-based and project-based financing; individual and multilateral financing, as well as topics such as the process of negotiation and approval of Bilateral / Multilateral Relations, all of which are very important for their work in the respective institutions.

The training included exercise sessions for the trainees, to offer a practical application of the lectures.

The “Municipalities for Europe” project will continue to conduct trainings of this kind in the coming days and weeks.
