In Pogradec, the Municipalities for Europe Project completed the third and final round of the Training Session on Communication Skills delivered to the EU Corner Local Coordinators, now established in all 61 municipalities of Albania.
The previous locations where this training session was organised are Lezha and Gjirokastra. In these sessions, all EU Local Coordinators have been trained on the role of EU Corners in their municipalities, communication skills in order to communicate effectively with the local administration of their municipality, citizens, different business communities , civil society, their local media, youth, etc. ....
During the training in Lezha, the coordinators also had the opportunity to get acquainted with a European best practice about accessing EU funds and programs from the 'Europe Direct' office of Bari, Italy.
At the Pogradec session, the EU Delegation Program Manager for Good Governance, Mr. Orlando Fusco, who actively participated in the training, stated that 'local municipalities and communities have the potential to become a positive engine for Albania's trail to the EU”.
The Municipalities for Europe Project is a unique kind of project, as it provides the Municipalities of Albania with the knowledge and skills to apply for EU funds as well as builds capacities to deliver quality information about the EU to citizens in general and public administrators in each of the Local Government Units in Albania.
