RROGOZHINA, May 5th 2019 – The European Integration and Foreign Assistance coordination Unit in the Municipality of Rrogozhina, organized a discussion session with the city youth of Rrogozhina, in the premises of the City Hall.

Attending the debate were the members of the City council, heads of various departments and officials of the Municipality, as well as representatives of the community.

Given that this year’s theme for Europe Week is “Power of Youth”, they were the ones who discussed on the possibilities that the European Integration opens for them and their peers.

During the discussion session, many ideas were put forward because of youth's need to be heard by the local elected representatives, while they were particularly interested to know more about the role that they themselves have to play, in the framework of European integration. “EU integration begins with family, neighborhood, community, our city”, said one attendee.

The youth of Rrogozhina, after getting information from the Coordination and Foreign Assistance Unit in the Municipality, expressed particular interest on the programs that EU implements for them, and especially about the challenges they themselves face to benefit form these programs. The absence of the Youth Council in the city and non-profit organizations, that could encourage youth to apply, was one of the problems for which they asked more commitment to reach a solution.

The head of the Unit informed the youth present on the opportunities provided by the “Municipalities for Europe” project, and how to get detailed information about these programs.

The European Integration and foreign Assistance Coordination Unit in the Municipality of Rrogozhina will organize such information and discussion sessions periodically, with various interest groups.
