LIBRAZHD, May 9th 2019 – On Europe Day, The European Integration and Foreign Assistance Coordination Unit in the Municipality of Librazhd, in cooperation with the City Council Cabinet, organized a meeting between the Youth Board and decision makers and directors in the Municipality.
The meeting kicked off with a presentation by the Coordinator of the youth Board and the City Council Cabinet, about the European Union, social democracy and youth policies. Important subject was also the sustainable social development, seen in the framework of local governance.
Following the presentation, an open discussion was held through presenting project ideas on how the Youth Board, created with the support of PLGP Program financed by USAID, sees the future of the city of Librazhd.
Divided in four groups, the members presented their projects, which included specific elements such as waste recycling, student campuses, light industrial zones, marketing companies, more green spaces in the city, the use of alternative electricity, professional schools and social services for different age groups, as well as how they see their city as part of the European integration.
At the end of each presentation there were question and answer sessions about the city in the presentation and which were the alternative solutions they offer for its improvement.
Representatives of the Municipality of Librazhd, appreciated the innovative ideas presented by the youth and shared with them some necessary information on how the Municipality works and on how helpful is the insight of young people in the process.
