RROGOSHINA, May 5, 2019 - The Unit for the Coordination of European Integration and Foreign Assistance in the Municipality of Rrogozhina organized a discussion session with the city’s youth in the city hall's meeting room.

Present at the debate session were members of the Municipal Council, directors and employees of various departments at the Municipality of Rrogozhina, as well as representatives of the community.

Taken on the theme of the Europe Week for this year, "The Power of Youth", young people have discussed about the opportunities offered by the European Union for them and their peers.

During the discussions session, many ideas emerged from the needs of young people to be heard more by the locally elected, while expressing their particular interest in learning more about the role that they themselves have to play, within the integration framework. "Because integration starts from family, neighbourhood, community, city," said one of the attendees.

The young people of Rrogozhina, following the information they received from the Coordination and Foreign Assistance Unit in the Municipality, expressed special interest to the programs that the European Union puts into practice for them, and especially for the challenges and difficulties they face to benefit from these programs. The lack of a Youth Council in the city and non-profit organizations that would serve as a stimulant to young people's access to these programs was one of the problems that required greater commitment to a solution.

The Unit Leader briefed young people on the opportunities provided through the Project “Municipalities for Europe” for obtaining detailed information on these programs. Such briefing and discussion sessions will be held periodically, with various interest groups, by the Coordination Unit for European Integration and Foreign Assistance in the Municipality of Rrogozhina.
