On the World Down Syndrome Day, the EU Corner in the Mallakastra Commune, in cooperation with the “Jonathan” Center in this city, organized on March 21, 2018, an awareness raising campaign for residents in order to encourage children and adults with Down syndrome, to become an active and normal part of the society.
The slogan of this campaign was “My friends, my community”.
After a quiet stroll in the city grounds, participants of this activity (people affected by Down syndromesupported by this association) together with the EU Corner team oranized a warm meeting with the entire administration team of the municipality,
In addition to the warm words and ideas exchanged on how to improve their lives, most of the members of the local administration, as it has turned into a tradition now, have bought a variety of postcards and socks prepared by children and adults with this syndrome.
All the gathered contributions are going to be used for the therapies of the childer who have Down syndrome.
