Following the national activities that with the support of the project "Municipalities for Europe" each EU Corner is organizing in the respective municipality throughout the year, the EU Corner in the Municipality of Kukes organized on June 5, 2018, a thematic debate focused on: "Environmental problems in Kukes Municipality: Challenges and Solutions.
The event was opened by Mr. Bujar Muçmata, the Secretary General of Kukes Municipality, who in his speech pointed out the environmental challenges faced in the city of Kukës, as well as the efforts of all local and international actors to address such situation.
The meeting was also welcomed by Ms. Ledia Muço, representative of the EU Delegation in Albania, who listed the problems encountered in the field of environment in the entire Region of Kukes, and mentioned the European Union initiatives in this region in order to find the right answers to the environmental challenges.
Further on, the meeting continued with a very detailed overview of the environmental and eco-system challenges in the Kukes area, presented by Mr. Arben Palushi and Mr. Bukurosh Onuzi environmental experts who live in the city of Kukës.
In the end, the meeting was accompanied by a question and answer session, during which attendees were informed in more details to the perspective and possible environmental solutions in Kukes region explained by the experts of the field.
