the EU Corner in the Mirdita Municipality chose to organize on teacher’s day, a conversation with young people in the city of Rrëshen and the surroundings, about the opportunities offered by Erasmus Plus Program of the European Union.

The activity outlines as 'Education and the European Union' was organised in the hall of the Culture Center of the city and was highly attended by many high school students accompanied by their pedagogical staff, as well as with the participation of local authorities, Ministry of Education, the EU Corner Coordinator of Mirdita Municipality, representatives of the project 'Municipalities for Europe' and the association 'Beyond the Barriers'.

Mr.Ndrec Dedaj, the City Mayor, who addressed this meeting, said that 'We are happy to have in our municipality an information office of the European Union, which among other things is at your disposal for everything you want to know about the EU, and more, about its major education program, Erasmus Plus”. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mr. Shpat Kolgega, who in his speech addressed the youngsters with his personal experience as a beneficiary of an Erasmus Plus opportunity by joining as a volunteer this program a few years ago. Then, the EU Coordinator in Mirdita, Ms. Edona Daçi informed the attendees on the Twinning platform, a program that promotes school co-operation in Europe through the use of information technology.

Whereas the Erasmus Plus program, and mainly the scholarships offered by it, the youth exchanges and the youth component in action of this program were presented by Ms. Antonela Tomço from the organization Beyond the Barriers.

Today's activity in  Mirdita marks a pivotal moment in the functioning of the EU Corner in this municipality, providing concrete and detailed information to interested parties/stakeholders targeted by the EU through the 'Municipalities for Europe' project.
