During the visit to the EU Corner in Lushnje, journalists became familiar with the work done so far by this project, and especially with the activity of the EU Corner in this city. Mrs. Eriselda Sefa, the local EU Coordinator in the city and at the same time the administrator of this Corner, informed journalists about the daily work and the way the EU Corner operates in this city. She also explained the citizens' expectations regarding the knowledge/information provided by this Corner. Further on, Mr. Orlando Fusco, Program Manager for Good Governance in the EU Delegation in Tirana, explained to the participants the high attention that the EU has recently given to the development of local governance in Albania and the goal of this project that aimes at bringing the EU closer to Albanian citizens.
This meeting in Lushnja was held in the framework of a national event with various national and local media journalists who attended a training course on how EU operates. During that day, they had several meetings and visited some of the EU-funded projects in Albania. Accompanied by the Program Managers of the EU Delegation in Albania, they were presented with the renovated employment office in Kavaja, part of the sector support reform program, as well as the Apollonia archaeological park in Fier, where they were introduced to the investments for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage as well as investments in the water sector and infrastructure of the city.
