
Gjirokastra, May 7, 2019 - The Unit for Coordination of European Integration and Foreign Assistance in the Municipality of Gjirokastra, in cooperation with the Europe House organized the dialogue called "Europe goes back to school" - with representatives of the EU Delegation, representatives of embassies of EU Member States, civil society organizations and students of "Asim Zeneli" High School in Gjirokastra.
Attending the Dialogue Meeting were the Deputy Ambassador of Hungary in Tirana, Mr. Attilla, the representative of the Hungarian Embassy, Mr. Gellert, the Greek Consul of the Republic of Greece in Gjirokastra, Mr. Lampros Kakisis, as well as the representative of the EU Delegation in Tirana, Ms. Ledia Muço. The meeting was moderated by the Head of the Unit for Coordination of European Integration and Foreign Assistance, Ms. Loena Bakuli.
Throughout the discussion, particular attention was given to the inclusion of young people in the EU integration process and inclusive education policies, as well as the development of their potential and skills as an important element of the country's social and economic development.

Young High School students of Gjirokastra asked several questions to the panel mainly on improving the conditions and criteria for their education outside of Albania after the opening of negotiations and on the improvements of the labor market after the completion of the study cycle, as well as they asked about changes in tuition fees in European Universities. Further, the questions focused on the adaptation of national education legislation and the cultural aspect to the European one.
The EU Delegation's Representative stressed the European Union's support in the form of investments to develop the potential of young people.
Even the representatives of the Hungarian Embassy and the Greek Consulate in Gjirokastra underlined that the government should provide more encouragement for the improvement of education standards so that leaving the country and studying abroad can not be seen as the sole option for the Albanian youth.
