Improving and expanding tourism services in the Mountain areas should be considered through the lens of preserving, consolidating, and promoting what the nature and the old tradition. The peculiarity and the quality of local food is a great potential that needs to be promoted as it embeds an economic development opportunity including through tourism. The Day of Mounting Tourism was celebrated in Razma on 23 June, 2018, an event organized by the Municipality of Malesia e Madhe, with the support of the project “ Municipalities for Europe” The representative of the EU Delegation Annelies VANWYMELBEKE, informed the participants that through the "Tourism-Led Model for Local Economic Development", the EU will provide EUR 40 million to encourage local economic development and support sustainable and responsible tourism in four pilot municipality. With a new programme that will start soon, the EU in partnership with EBRD will finance the rehabilitation of best Cultural Heritage assets enabling them to generate longer tourist stays, and grants to hospitality and agro-tourism businesses willing to renovate and upscale their businesses, with efforts on keeping Albanian authenticity will be supported.
