May 7th 2019 – In the framework of the activities organized throughout all the 61 Municipalities of Albania by the European Integration and Foreign Assistance Units, during “Europe Week”, the Municipality of Mat held a meeting called “Municipality of the Youth”.

In the City Council meeting room, the students and senators of “Pjeter Budi” high school along with it’s directors, discussed with the city councilors, during a special meeting, attended also by the Deputy Mayor of Mat Municipality, Mrs. Anjeza Shema.

After being briefed by the secretary and members of the City Council on the procedures used during regular meetings, the youth approved the agenda of the day and discussed their needs and issues.

They presented their needs while exchanging with the city councilors their ideas for the development of the city, as well as expressing the need to be more informed on the opportunities that the European Integration of Albania can create for their future.

The Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Anjeza Shema, regarding the messages on volunteering and civic engagement, two important topics of Europe Week for 2019, and also by answering the youths demands, informed the attendees about the information services that the EU Corner in their Municipality offers for the youth and other interest groups too.

The European Integration Unit at the Municipality of Mat, which is the link between the youth and EU, will continue to organize such events with different interest groups for the city of Burrel.
