On 9 November 2018, in the premises of "Europe House" in Tirana, the "Municipalities for Europe project" in cooperation with the “Albanian School of Public Administration” – ASPA, the "Agency for Local Self-Governance", the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs as well as with the support of the Delegation of European Union to Albania, organized a multi-plenary ceremony with local EU co-ordinators from all the municipalities of the country.

Among other things, during this ceremony an agreement was signed between the "Municipalities for Europe" project and the ALSG for further administration by this public agency of the Internal Communication Platform, a platform which continues to serve for informing and sharing the best experiences of EU Desks from municipalities all over the country.

Meanwhile, the ‘Municipalities for Europe’ project together with ASPA signed a co-operation agreement for handing over all the training modules that over a year served to enhance the capacities of the local coordinators, regarding various issues that will serve them in the future, not only for the administration of the EU Desks in their municipalities, but above all to increase their capacities in absorbing more of the EU funds at the local level.

During the final ceremony of the EU Local Coordinators’ certification, Mr. Luigi Soreca, Ambassador of the Delegation of European Union to Albania, who participated in this event, said that: "Local authorities play a crucial role in the EU integration process of Albania”. Soon, more EU funds will become available and dedicated to the local governments”
